Years ago, I took an Italian home cooking class. We made basil pesto. The teacher used a small stone mortar and pestle. It took forever.

I asked, "Can't we just use a food processor?"

She said, "You can, but it tastes better with the stone mortar."

"Why?"

"Well… maybe because it has more soul?"

I thought of this when I saw yet another post saying em dashes are AI, actually is AI, quietly is AI.

If you enjoy writing everything by hand, fine. If you enjoy using a stone mortar, fine. But effort is not the same as quality, and tool choice is not the same as taste.

A bad idea written manually is still a bad idea. A clear idea shaped with AI is still a clear idea.

If all you can see is the word "actually," just forget it, dude.
