How We Work
We replace the translation workflow, and stay until it runs on its own.
What this looks like
You give us the intent, audience, and tone. We generate Japanese from scratch — not from your English. A native professional verifies it.
AI is not used as a translation engine. It is used to generate, compare, structure, and test possible Japanese product experiences from intent.
This is Intent-Based Generation: we generate Japanese from the content's intent — its purpose or goal — not from source text line by line.
Human judgment is not used to polish machine translation. It is used to decide what the Japanese experience should be.
The goal isn't a one-time delivery. It's a system your team can run, with IC Eight alongside when needed.
The process
The Four-Layer Workflow is how we operationalize Intent-Based Generation: intent brief, human decisions, AI generation, AI evaluation, and final human judgment.
We look at your current Japanese layer — UI, onboarding, help, messaging. If nothing exists yet, we review the English from the perspective of where Japanese users will hesitate.
Not everything needs to be localized. We map which parts of your product affect trust, clarity, and adoption — and focus there. Everything else can wait, stay lighter, or stay as it is.
We define the intent, audience, and tone criteria your team will use to generate Japanese going forward. This is the intent brief — and this is the system.
We generate Japanese from intent, verify with native judgment, and refine fast. Iterations in hours, not weeks.
Generation uses a four-layer multi-agent workflow — intent brief, human decisions, AI generation, and AI evaluation. See how it works →
Ongoing collaboration — quick reviews, guardrail updates, new content — until your team can run the system confidently on their own.
What we don't do
If your goal is to review and fix AI-generated Japanese string by string, there are many vendors who can help with that.
IC Eight's work is different. We don't start from a translated draft. We build the Japanese experience from intent — so there's nothing to fix after the fact.
If post-editing AI output is what you're looking for, IC Eight probably isn't the right fit. And that's okay.
Get started
Japanese UX Review — Send us anything your Japanese users see. We'll tell you what's not working and why, with clear priorities for what to fix first.
AI-native localization — If you're ready to build Japanese from product intent instead of translating assets, we'll design the system, set the guardrails, and stay alongside until your team can run it independently.
Either way, start with a conversation.
