Working together

Do we need a long-term contract?

No. Most teams start with a small review of one product area. If there's a good fit, ongoing collaboration tends to produce the best results — but there's no obligation to commit upfront.

Who will we be working with?

All work is handled by a single senior operator with nearly 30 years of experience in translation and product-facing content. No junior hand-offs. No anonymous offshore teams. You always know who is responsible for your Japanese UX.

How do projects usually start?

Most teams begin by sending us something their Japanese users see — onboarding, a pricing page, help content, UI copy. We review it and tell you where it's losing trust or clarity, and how to fix it at the source.

We already have Japanese content. Can you still help?

Yes — if it's content that affects adoption. UI copy, onboarding, pricing, help content, error messages: these are where language shapes whether users trust and use your product. We review those and tell you what's not working. For blog content or general marketing copy, there are better-suited vendors.

AI, translation & workflow

Do you ever translate?

It depends on the content. For UI copy, onboarding, help, and product messaging — where voice is secondary to clarity and trust — we generate Japanese from intent, not from your English copy. For content where the author's voice matters (thought leadership, a CEO message, a blog post), AI-assisted translation followed by native review may be the better path. The goal is always what works best for Japanese users — not a fixed workflow.

Can we trust AI-generated Japanese?

The question isn't whether AI generates it — it's whether a native professional stands behind it. At IC Eight, nothing reaches your users without native expert review. AI handles scale and consistency. Human judgment handles trust.

Do you do MTPE?

No. MT output is structurally unreliable — especially when text contains tags, variables, or fragmented strings. Fixing that sentence by sentence introduces more risk than it removes. Instead, we generate Japanese directly with LLMs, guided by intent, tone, and UX context. If MTPE is what you need, a different vendor will be a better fit.

Logistics

How is pricing handled?

We don't publish price tables because scope varies. Reviews are usually fixed-fee. Ongoing collaboration is quoted based on volume and cadence. All pricing is agreed upfront.

How fast can you turn things around?

For a single-page review, typically 24–48 hours. For ongoing work, we adapt to your release pace — whether you ship daily or weekly.
